Services We Provide
ESTATE SALES AND PERSONAL PROPERTY LIQUIDATION

  • What is an Estate Sale?

It is the professional liquidation of personal property; everything from Fine Arts and Antiques
to the everyday household items that make up an estate. Estates are sold for heirs, executors,
attorneys, trustees, families or people who need to liquidate their personal property.

  • Why hire Estate Sellers instead of doing sale yourself?

We are professionals and know how to make more money for the estate! The pricing and
selling of an estate needs specialized knowledge of market values, not only of Antiques, Fine
Arts, Jewelry and Collectibles, but of the common everyday items that make up an estate.

Estate Sellers has the experience and knowledge to organize, display, research,  price each
item, sale preparation, writing and placement of advertising. We provide sales staff and
security as needed. The entire contents of the estate will be sold, what is not sold during
estate sale will be bought up by clean up buyers or donated to charity (donation form will be
supplied by charity for tax purposes)

The sale is held on premises of the estate. A typical sale takes  one or two days usually over a
weekend.  Depending on the size of the estate, it can up to two weeks to prepare for a sale.
(longer for very large estates)

The fee is based on a percentage of the gross receipts of the sale. Additional charges may be
made for sales that demand special considerations.

Estate Sellers provides  professional services only. We value being  professionally objective
and ethical, so we never buy items ourselves for any reason.

Liquidation of a loved ones belongings can be a heart wrenching task. Let us take the on the
burden and we will treat the estate with the care and respect it deserves.
PERSONAL PROPERTY APPRAISALS

  • What is an Appraisal?

A personal property appraisal is an estimate of value by a unbiased and qualified appraiser. It
can be for any kind of tangible personal property for various purposes; i.e. Insurance,
Probate, dissolution of marriage, donation, etc.
This is a formal signed document that includes a complete inventory and detailed description
of your item(s) and is suitable for submission to Insurance companies, Courts, Attorneys, IRS,
Estate Executors, etc.

  • What is involved?

We will come to your home, estate or place of business to examine and inventory your
property. After we complete our inspection and inventory at your home, estate or place of
business, we conduct market research of your items. Research is done using comaprables of
same age and condition and investigating local market trends, auction sale results or other
factors to determine the value of your items. We can usually submit an average appraisal
report within six weeks. Very rare items  or very complicated appraisal types may be longer.

  • What are the costs involved?

Charges are calculated on an hourly rate based on time involved conducting the inspection,
inventory, research and any materials used. Additional research, court testimony, outside
consultants or travel will result in additional fees, We never charge based on the value of
items appraised.

  • Reasons to have an appraisal on your personal property, antiques and collectibles:

Insurance coverage, probate, IRS, dissolution of marriage, donations to charitable
organizations are some of the reasons to have a written appraisal report done. Due to
changing market conditions your insurance carrier may recommend that an appraisal be
done every few years, especially with fine art, antiques, jewelry
, autos  and collectibles.

Whether you use Estate Sellers or another appraisal service, your appraiser should be a
member of a professional appraisal organization that promotes professional ethics, IRS
regulations and the requirements of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice
(USPAP)
